BMT MEDICATIONS
Cyclosporin – Helps prevent Graft versus Host disease
(causes puffy face, neck and shoulders)
Methotrexate – given intravenously during first eleven days
Helps prevent Graft versus Host disease
Heparin Continuous infusion
Prevents/reduces the risk of Veno occlusive disease
Gancylclovir Viral medication to combat cytomegalovirus
Acyclovir via nasogastric tube
Prevents Herpes infection
Anti fungal agent for mouth eg Nilstat, fungilan daktarin
Given orally
Prevents/reduces risk of fungal infection of mouth and or gut
Amphotericin Nasal spray
Administered as a spray up the nostrils
Prevents/reduces risk of fungal infection of nasal passages and lungs
GCSF injection under the skin
Stimulates growth of cells in the bone marrow
Antibiotics When temperature is evident broad-spectrum intravenous antibiotics are commenced
Magnesium & Potassium
Albimum For low protein
Fluconazole Anti-fungal agent
Atenolol & Ramipril Blood Pressure control
Primulut-N Break through menstrual bleeding
Normine Birth control pill for menstrual bleeding
